Review of the PARISH PLAN OPEN DAY 14th June 2008

The Open Day for Ashmanhaugh Parish Plan was on Saturday 14th June 2008.  There were stands and representatives from the Preston Rooms; the Art Group; St Swithins Church; Ashmanhaugh Cricket Club; Ashmanhaugh Light Railway; Norfolk Police; and members of the Parish Council. There was also a stand with historical information about Ashmanhaugh, including a model of the Iron Age Boar which was found in the village around 2001.  Norman Lamb, the MP for Ashmanhaugh, spent an hour visiting each stand and talking to volunteers and visitors.

As each villager entered the hall they were given a ticket for the £50.00 prize.  There was one very happy prize winner.

Excellent refreshments were served by the 'Pudding Club' organisers which everyone enjoyed.

North Norfolk District Council Active Communities Team provided the paints, crayons and paper for the very popular 'Colouring Competition' and the Gazebo and Face Painting kit.  There were two competitions, one for children under 12 and one for those over 12. Each section had a prize of £5.00 for the winner.

At the next meeting of the Parish Plan group on 03 July 2008, all the information received will have been analysed and the results will be published shortly afterwards.

We would like to thank everyone is helped to make the day interesting and a success and also thanks go to everyone who visited and put comments forward.
