Fundenhall Village History Walk - 29th June 2008
Village History Walk
Sunday June 29 at 2.30 from The Grange, Fundenhall
50 people turned up at Grange Farm (Fundenhall) for the walk organised and lead by John Brookes.
We had a leisurely walk along the road to the Church where we had a good look around and heard about the history and restoration work. After that it was down Hudman’s Lane, over Hudman’s Field and finished up walking over Manor Farm’s fields past Knyvett Grove until we reached Manor Farm. At various points John and friends gave us interesting snippets of information about the history of the places.
At Manor Farm we heard about the running of the farm and saw a variety of things including milking time.
It was then off to the Rookery where a break was enjoyed with tea as well as lovely sandwiches and cakes were kindly provided. After a while we headed back, taking in a few more sights.
Not only did everyone enjoy themselves greatly but about £200 (fee + contributions for tea) was raised towards the Church restoration fund.We are all looking forward to the next walk (John mentioned a possible Ghost walk)See Photo album for a selection of pictures.
