Punting 11th July 2009
Saturday 11th July saw almost 40 Bartlow residents and friends take a charabanc to Scudamores and punt off down the Cam. Brainchild of Joe Baily, this event had it all (except rounders, to the chagrin of David Hannah). One can only speculate that the copious quantities of Cava consumed with the strawberries at Grantchester meadows explained the contrast between the flawless, incident-free journey to the meadows and the carnage on the return with no less than three full immersions! (No names of course!) And a meal in the Three Hills afterwards to re-live the experience. Voted a really superb day out by the junior jet club and the oldsters alike, this one has to be repeated – with a small change in the timing to squeeze in the rounders of course.
Getting ready
We are ready
Are we sure?
Have you done this before?
Easy peasy
It's this way
I told you it was easy
This will do
I wonder if the swan wants to join us
Cheers
Now where's mine
I wonder if these adults know what they are doing?
Hold on to that pole at all costs
