The Parish Council responded to a police consultation paper.  Here are the results of the consultation

Unitary Authority Proposal for Norfolk.

The consultation period for responding to the unitary proposal for Norfolk has now closed.  However Hazel Blears , the Secretary of State will not be deciding on this until at least 31st December when the Boundary Committee report back to her.  To press home the Parish Council's view that the proposal for an all Norfolk plus Lowestoft unitary authority is wrong we have written directly to the Secretary of State.  If you feel so inclined to write to the SoS please feel free to model your response on ours. See our letter here. (Please note you will need Internet Explorer to open the file, other browsers may not recognise it.)

The Parish Council has agreed that the proposal of the Boundary Committee will not best serve the residents of Wood Norton specifically and Norfolk in general.  We have made representation to the Boundary Committee, via the online consultation process.  Click here to see what we said.

The Parish Council will also be writing directly to the Secretary of State to make the case for maintaining the status quo but with enhanced working between the County Council and the districts. That letter will be made available on this site for other to use if they so wish.

The Boundary Committee for England has published draft proposals for patterns of unitary local government in Norfolk and is proposing a single unitary authority for Norfolk covering the whole county and including Lowestoft.  If you think this will not affect us in Wood Norton you are wrong.  Find out more about the different sides of the story by visiting www.norfolk.gov.uk and also our district council's view at www.north-norfolk.gov.uk
